About Cold Drawn Steel
Cold drawn steel can be an outstanding choice for demanding applications that require added precision compared to hot rolled bar or wire. It is produced through a process that begins with hot rolled straight bars from the mill. Drawing is a metalworking process that uses tensile force to stretch metal.
For cold drawn wire and bar, the starting stock is drawn through a die to reduce its diameter and increase its length. Cold drawn steel is usually produced at room temperature and as such is classified as a cold working process.
