Dowels are used in concrete to allow for expansion and contraction of concrete which occurs when weather and moisture changes exist, but keeps the concrete from lifting.
Some common sizes for smooth dowels are 1/2″, 5/8″, 3/4″, 7/8″, 1″, 1-1/8″ and 1-1/4″. These bars are produced in lengths and are usually shear cut or saw cut to specific lengths depending on the end application.
Jade Sterling Steel has carved a niche as one of the leading distributors of smooth bar products to the construction industry. We carry a large inventory of standard sizes of smooth rounds including 1/2″, 5/8″, 3/4″, 1″, 1-1/8″, 1-1/4″ and larger. While our most competitive pricing is offered in no grade Domestic smooth rounds, we also have great deals on certified smooth bar. Some common grades we supply in smooth rounds are A36, Gr-40 and Gr-60. Most of our smooth bars are rolled to 20′ lengths, however, we do have the capacity to have specific lengths produced when required.
With four major warehouses located in Cleveland and Chicago, as well as a location in Houston, TX dedicated specifically to smooth bar, Jade Sterling Steel is able to stock large quantities of this product for immediate delivery as and when needed. As an opportunistic buyer with long-standing relationships with most Domestic mills, Jade Sterling Steel is able to offer some of the most competitive pricing on smooth dowel products. Having several customers in the construction industry using similar sizes and grades in smooth rounds allows us to carry a large inventory of standard sizes and grades for quick delivery.
Whether you’re in need of a singe bundle, a full truckload or even a rail car of smooth bar, let Jade Sterling Steel go to work filling your requirements.
