Bright basic wire, also referred to as BBW, is drawn from hot rolled rod. The rod is cold drawn through a die in order to produce a product with close dimensional tolerances, improved mechanical properties and a bright finish. Shotblasting or pickling is often completed prior to drawing in order to remove surface scale. Bright basic wire may be produced in industrial, cold finishing, high carbon and cold heading qualities. BBW may be used in a variety of applications including fasteners, components, baskets and displays. End products may include nails, rivets, u-bolts, fan guards and carts.
Whether you require bright basic wire for the most “basic” needs, or something a bit more critical, Jade Sterling Steel is committed to supplying high quality material in a timely manner at a competitive price.
We offer full size and grade range of bright basic wire depending on the end application. Most of the bright basic wire we supply is in diameters up to 1/2″, although we do have the capacity to provide much larger sizes. Our most common grades include 1006, 1008, 1010, 1015, 1018 and 1022.
